The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with
communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and
wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.

About the role:

The Project Officer works as a member of the Improvement branch with responsibility for supporting the delivery of targeted improvement projects aligned to the strategic objectives of the Improvement Branch and aimed at improving the safety and quality of healthcare in Victoria.

Working in a fast-paced environment and in partnership with clinicians, consumers and other members of the project team, the project officer applies highly developed communication, project management and administrative skills to ensure the professional delivery of SCV improvement projects.

The role reports to the Manager, Team 2 and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of the Improvement Branch initiatives, as well as supporting the branch to deliver against the SCV Corporate Plan and strategic objectives.

About you:

There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however, a tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in fields related to health administration, medicine, nursing, paramedic, pharmacy, public health or allied health would be desirable.
Previous project experience and a sound understanding of the Victorian health system and knowledge of the department and its operating processes and information systems is desirable.
