We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Cardiac Surgery Team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus.
The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. Unit Description:
The Cardiac Surgery Service at the RMH is a recognised world leader in patient care, innovation and patient safety. It is the largest service in Victoria and the second largest in Australia.

About the role:
Excellent knowledge of Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology, in addition to good overall knowledge of medicine in surgery.
Experienced in and independently able to perform: - conduit harvest, - right and left internal thoracic arteries, radial artery. Instituting Cardiopulmonary Bypass (and discontinuation) both centrally and peripherally. Intra-Aortic Balloon pump insertion.
Able to independently perform – straight forward Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement.
Experience in patient care including preoperative assessment, intra-operative / operating
room, intensive care unit, high dependency unit, ward, postoperative review and follow up.
Experience in the conduct of audit, and of clinical trials.
Substantial experience in clinical research, and a track record of appropriate publications.
Presentations at professional meetings.
About You:
Current Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Appropriate tertiary health qualifications - MBBS or equivalent
Ability to work in a team
Well-developed communication and presentation skills (Proficient in English)
