Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

The Security and Emergency Management Group
The Security and Emergency Management Group (SEMG) is responsible for providing authoritative and specialist security and emergency management services and advice to Victoria's courts and VCAT tribunals. SEMG works to ensure the security and safety of the people who work in and attend courts and tribunals and CSV's assets. SEMG is responsible for coordinating security and emergency management operations and business continuity practices, in line with legislative requirements, organisational policies, relevant standards and best practice.
About the role
The Senior Security Operations Adviser reports to the Assistant Director, Security Operations and works in a corporate team providing high level authoritative advice to jurisdictions ensuring CSV can protect judicial officers, staff and court users and its assets. A primary focus of this role will be to conduct security risks assessments of court and tribunal venues across Victoria to identify vulnerabilities, security gaps, and potential threats. Working collaboratively with other teams across CSV, this role will develop strategies and plans to mitigate these risks effectively.
Key accountabilities include:

Conducting comprehensive security risk assessments of CSV sites within an existing framework to identify vulnerabilities, security gaps, and potential threats and develop strategies and plans to mitigate these risks effectively

Providing a proactive response for end-to-end management of security related threats and risks made against judicial members, VCAT members and staff, including liaising with the jurisdiction key contacts, Victoria Police, Corrections Victoria, and other law enforcement agencies

Conducting site visits to court and tribunal venues across the state to monitor CSO performance, ensure implementation of security policies and procedures, and provide face to face onsite support to Registrars and Managers.

Working collaboratively with key partner agencies, including Victoria Police, Corrections Victoria, and Youth Justice, in the management of security risks, threats and incidents in courts and tribunal building strong professional and collaborative relationships.

Contributing to the development of briefing papers, reports, and presentations on complex and sensitive issues related to security threats and risks to the court environment for consideration of senior CSV management and provide solutions, proposals, and recommendations. This also includes managing and maintaining systems and processes to capture data pertaining to the management and identification of trends in security incidents in the risk profile of the courts and tribunals.
About you

A relevant tertiary or professional qualification together with demonstrated extensive experience in security or related fields.

Demonstrated extensive experience in security, policing or related fields in delivering a security response to large and complex security incidents involving key part ner law enforcement agencies, preferably in a court setting
