Full Job Description

About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Aged/Disabled Carer to support an individual with daily living needs within their home environment. The successful applicant will assist in promoting safety, independence and wellbeing while ensuring the client is treated with dignity and respect at all times.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

· Provide day-to-day support by accompanying the client to appointments, community engagements and routine outings.

· Assist the client with moving safely around the home and when transitioning between mobility aids.

· Prepare meals tailored to the client’s dietary needs and assist with planning simple meal routines.

· Support engagement in recreational, social or therapeutic activities to encourage mental stimulation and social connection.

· Maintain a clean, organised living space by carrying out general household duties such as tidying, laundry and basic cleaning.

· Assist the client with personal care routines, including grooming, bathing and dressing, ensuring comfort and privacy.

· Offer emotional reassurance and companionship, fostering a supportive and positive home environment.

· Undertake errands such as grocery shopping or collecting essential items when required.

· Where necessary, reside in the home to provide ongoing care and ensure continuity of support.

Essential qualifications and skill requirements:

· Minimum 12 months Previous experience in aged or disability care .

· Minimum Cert III or higher qualification in Individual Support, Aged Care or Disability

· Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience and a client-centred approach.

· Strong communication skills and the capacity to build trusted relationships.

· Reliability and the ability to work autonomously.

· First Aid Certificate and Police Check (or willing to obtain).
