Salary Range - Minimum $27.10 - $29.39 per hour

About the Role

The Catering Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the overall well-being of residents by contributing to their dining experiences. They help create a welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes and work diligently to ensure that residents receive nourishing and enjoyable meals tailored to their individual needs.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the Cook or Head Chef.
Serving Meals: Help in serving meals to residents during mealtimes, ensuring that each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.
Dining Room Setup: Set up the dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean, and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.
Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area. They may also help with cleaning kitchen surfaces and storage areas.
Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during mealtimes, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.

Skills & Experience

Food Handlers Certificate.
Adaptable, passionate and willingness to learn.
Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
Friendly and effective communication abilities.
