Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager (EGM), North Business Unit, this is a highly visible leadership role with accountability for the performance, people, customers and growth of the Queensland North region.

Based in Townsville, the Regional Manager is responsible for a diverse network of branches across North Queensland and the Northern Territory, spanning a vast and strategically important region from Mackay in the south to Weipa in the north, and from Emerald in the west through to Darwin. This broad remit provides a unique opportunity to influence business performance across multiple markets, industries and communities.

As Regional Manager, you'll lead a geographically dispersed team, driving safe, profitable and customer-focused outcomes across the region. With the autonomy to shape strategy and influence results, you'll play a pivotal role in developing high-performing teams, strengthening customer partnerships and ensuring operational excellence across the business.

You'll also contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects and high-profile community and sporting events throughout the region, helping Coates continue to support the industries and communities that keep Australia moving.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Leading Safety Excellence

Champion a strong safety culture across the region, ensuring safety remains at the heart of every decision and activity.
Drive accountability, engagement and continuous improvement in safety performance.

Regional Leadership & Culture

Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of leaders across the branch network.
Foster a culture of engagement, collaboration and accountability that enables people and teams to succeed.

Customer & Community Focus

Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnerships.
Support the delivery of major projects and events that contribute to the growth and success of the region.

Business Performance

Develop and execute regional strategies that drive sustainable growth, profitability and operational excellence.
Ensure regional performance targets are achieved through strong leadership, planning and execution.

Network & Asset Optimisation

Partner with fleet, maintenance, transport and supply chain teams to maximise network performance and asset utilisation.
