You will need to have a level of skill commensurate with either completion of an Advanced Diploma or Diploma and at least three years of on-the-job training. Ideally the successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.

What we expect
- Demonstrate a range of cooking techniques, monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Lead and motivate staff in all aspects of kitchen operations and presentation.
- Managing and supporting your teams, including training and coaching.
- Stock management and control.
- Control of both wage & food costs to the allocated budget.
- Kitchen presentation and asset management.
- Lead and demonstrate respect for food safety guidelines and Work Health & Safety procedures.
- Flexible with your availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- a stable working history.
- Proven experience in kitchen management systems, stocktake, costings and financial control.
- Proven experience in modern and on trend menu development with the head and sous chefs.
- Attention to detail while presenting a high standard of attractive and tasty dishes for our patrons.
- Strong communication skills with a good attitude towards front and back of house staff
- Effective time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
- Compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations including hygiene policies
Tasks may include:
- planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- discussing food preparation issues with Managers and kitchen and waiting staff
- demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- preparing and cooking food
- explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- may select and train staff
- may freeze and preserve foods
