About the Role
The IT Helpdesk & Support Officer is responsible for the day-to-day generalist administration of all things IT, providing hands-on technical system and hardware administration in accordance with Director of Finance & Corporate Services and policy.
As a key IT contact for the operating business this role will both troubleshoot issues on the ground, and direct issues to the global IT department, and be able to triage issues appropriately in that regard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software applications to ensure the business stays operational
- Manage ticket system queues and prioritize problems based on severity
- Maintain asset inventory system
- Perform hardware and software installations, configuration and updates as required
- Assist with IT onboarding for new employees by setting up their accounts, devices, and access rights
- Assist in the management of printers, mobile phones, VOIP devices, access points, Laptops, 3G boosters, switches, modems, and UPS’s necessary for office and rig operations
- Provide phone support during and after hours (rostered) including remote software support for the rig operations, all software and hardware including troubleshooting day to day operations
- Setup and maintain user accounts in AD and other applications as required
- Occasional onsite support in the field
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs)
- Microsoft Office 365 - Support & Management
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint management
- Applications support
- Hardware deployments - Laptops, Phones, AP, Switches, Printers etc
- Excellent troubleshooting skills - Networking, hardware, applications
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or related field
- Current and valid Driver’s Licence
- Full Australian working rights
