Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Evaporation Technologies)

Join the University of Southern Queensland led project, Understanding and Reducing Evaporation Losses in the Northern Murray Darling Basin, a groundbreaking industry-led collaboration between the Murray-Darling Basin’s researchers, industries and communities. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Evaporation Technologies), you will play a key role in the One Basin CRC funded project.
Working closely with researchers, industry partners and stakeholders, you will undertake a comprehensive review of technologies and practices used globally to reduce evaporation losses from water storages. You will evaluate the feasibility, cost-effectiveness and operational requirements of existing and emerging solutions, investigate novel approaches, and help identify practical pathways for adoption across the Basin.
A significant aspect of the role will involve engaging directly with industry stakeholders and water users through surveys, interviews and consultation activities to better understand current practices, challenges and opportunities. Your findings will contribute to evidence-based recommendations, future research priorities and the development of implementation pathways tailored to the unique conditions of the Northern Murray Darling Basin.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A doctoral or master's qualification in agricultural engineering, environmental science, water resources, engineering, agriculture or a related discipline.

Research experience relevant to water management, agricultural technologies, environmental systems or a related field.

Experience designing and conducting research, including data collection, analysis and the preparation of research outputs.

The ability to engage effectively with industry, community and research stakeholders and build productive working relationships.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly to a range of audiences.

A collaborative approach, intellectual curiosity and a commitment to delivering high-quality research outcomes.

Salary: Total remuneration range $133,256 to $157,504 pa (includes salary range of $112,381 to $132,831 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
