Bankstown Hospital is a metropolitan teaching hospital within South Western Sydney Local Health District, providing a diverse and culturally rich learning environment. We are offering TWO Intern Pharmacist positions to 2027. Interns will work alongside experienced clinical pharmacists, educators, and multidisciplinary teams while caring for patients with a broad range of acute and complex medical conditions. The program is designed to foster professional growth through supported clinical practice, regular feedback, and progressive responsibility throughout the internship year.

Demonstrates strong attention to detail, sound clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on medication safety and quality use of medicines appropriate to their level of training.
Is curious, eager to learn, and committed to continuous professional development, reflective practice, and actively seeking and applying feedback to support growth and development.
Communicates effectively through active listening and strong interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with patients, carers, colleagues, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Is organised, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, embrace new challenges, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic clinical environment.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

Eligible to apply for Supervised Practice arrangements with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) prior to the agreed date for commencement and enrollment in the National Intern Training Program for pharmacists.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including medication counselling to enable a patient to safely and effectively administer medicines.
Describe a time you were given a task or responsibility that was outside your comfort zone. How did you approach it, and what was the outcome?
Describe a time you identified an opportunity to improve something, even though it wasn't expected of you?
