iCARE Youth and Community Services Pty Ltd is a dedicated NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) registered provider, and a provider of residential placements for the Department of Children and Families in the Northern Territory (NT). Our core mission is to provide essential care and support services to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being, independence, and inclusion in the community. Our service offerings encompass a wide range of NDIS-approved supports, including accommodation, therapy, and community access programs, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual we serve.
Due to increased demand for our services, we have multiple positions available for this role in Tennant Creek and the surrounding areas of Central Australia, NT.
Position Description
Provide assistance, support and direct care to patients in a variety of health, welfare and community settings, perform a range of clerical and administrative tasks.
Duties:
- Provide basic treatment and delivery of medications under the direction of nursing staff, including vaccinations
- Support patients with daily activities such as mobility, personal care, and communication needs
- Assist clients with transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists when required.
- Monitor participants' wellbeing, record observations, and report clinical or behavioural changes to nurses and clinical teams.
- Support participants with enteral feeding, medication support, seizure management, and complex health routines where trained and authorised.
- Work within high-intensity NDIS support environments requiring strict infection control, documentation, and compliance procedures.
- Assist participants with complex medical and disability-related care needs under delegated nursing supervision.
- Follow therapy plans, such as interventions, to assist patients
- Observe and report changes in patients' conditions, and report complaints about care provided
- Assist patients with their personal care needs such as grooming, bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, eating, toileting, bladder and bowel management
- Participate in planning the care of patients and residents
- Assist in workplace health and safety, and assist with rehabilitation exercises
- Domestic support such as meal preparation, light household duties and laundry.
- Community access, such as driving to appointments and social activities.
- Follow therapy plans, such as interventions to assist those with dementia and behavioural problems
- Observe and report changes in patients' condition, and report complaints about care
- Provid direct support and assistance to therapists
Eligibility requirements:
To be eligible, the ideal candidate must have/be willing to obtain the following:
Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III with relevant post qualification work experience of at least one year (minimum 20 hours plus per week) or
Have at least one year of relevant full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience
Current National Police Check
NDIS Worker Screening Check
First Aid Certificate
Availability to work across a 24/7 Roster to meet operational needs
NT Driver's Licence
