About the Housing Support Program
CatholicCare NT (CCNT) implements a case management and early intervention approach to break the cycle of homelessness through empowering clients to effectively problem solve and manage their accommodation and regain control of their circumstances including; housing, financial, and social and community issues that are placing them at risk of homelessness.
About the Role - what you'll be doing
The Housing Support Case Worker works as part of our small team and provides support according to need through intensive case management, education and support to participants of CCNT’s Housing Support program and focusses on a stepped model of care in core areas, supporting participants in Transitional Housing and those in need of Tenancy Support in Public Housing. You will be
- coordinating support to people who need to access immediate housing as well as those transitioning out of public housing
- assisting individuals, families and communities through prioritising referrals
- developing case plans and strategies to address challenges
- participating and collaborating in relevant networks with key stakeholders
- writing accurate case notes providing reports and feedback

What we are looking for - a people person!

Relevant experience and certificate to undertake the range of support services required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with, and manage complex situations involving homelessness, poverty, mental health, family violence, alcohol and other drug misuse.

Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people

Demonstrated ability to advocate for clients and work effectively with stakeholders through meetings, letters of advocacy /support and case note writing

Valid Drivers licence (C Class)

Tennant Creek is located approximately 1015 kms south of Darwin and 507kms north of Alice Springs in the Barkly Tableland.
