What you will do may include, but not limited to:

Lead the team to achieve all New Product Introduction (NPI) deliverables including cost, velocity, reliability, and quality targets.
Lead the team in Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) activities by addressing feedback from Product Support and Manufacturing.
Drive collaboration with product development groups, value chain, manufacturing, commercial, and product support.
Daily coaching and mentoring; motivating and developing project team and team members.
Provide leadership for design reviews and conformance to design guidelines and best practices.
Oversee project progress, communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and lifecycle efficiency.
Develop budgets and provide regular updates and forecasts.

What you need to have:

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering curriculum with progressive engineering and product development experience.

Top Candidates will also have:

Experience directing design staff; motivating and developing team members in a high-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work well in collaborative environment and to communicate effectively in cross functional teams.
Executed all phases of a new product development program.
Experience collaborating with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
Personal experience in executing APQP from beginning to end.
Previous experience designing complex welded steel structures.
Hands-on experience (e.g. machinery, heavy equipment, manufacturing processes, welding, etc.)

What Skills you will have:

Planning: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
