About the role
The Digital Assurance team is seeking a Senior Assurance Insights Analyst to join their team. This position will analyse assurance and performance data to identify trends, risks and systemic issues, and provide evidence‑based insights and recommendations, delivering regular executive‑level reporting, dashboards and strategic insights to support informed decision‑making and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Director ICT Assurance, this role requires strong analytical and report writing abilities, well-developed stakeholder management capabilities, effective project management and prioritisation skills.
Key responsibilities

Analyse assurance reviews data to identify performance issues, risks, and provide recommendations and reporting to senior executives on project health and funding decisions.

Analyse project reporting data to identify trends, emerging risks, and performance issues, and provide strategic insights to senior executives to support informed decision making.

Develop analytical models and one-off dashboards to identify trends, patterns and anomalies and provide commentary on these, to drive evidence-based decision-making.

Ensure data accuracy, reporting timeliness, and maintain dashboards for operational and executive decision making.

Prepare high‑quality reports and briefing materials, including Cabinet‑level briefs, that synthesise complex information, facilitating informed executive decisions.

Support assurance reviews through analytics, reporting and drafting inputs including Terms of Reference, contributing to robust assurance outcomes.

Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure reporting is current, promoting engagement and compliance.

Establish, and maintain data and metrics definitions, frameworks and insights standards, strengthening consistency, and data integrity.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

Demonstrated experience in project reporting and data analysis, including delivering of high quality, regular reporting and insights in a complex operational environment.

Demonstrated experience using data query, transformation, modelling and visualisation tools across a range of software solutions including PowerBI.

Demonstrated experience working with data governance frameworks and ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

Tertiary qualifications within a relevant business discipline and/or demonstrated relevant working experience in a similar role / industry.

Experience drafting policy documents, Cabinet submissions, and detailed reports including data analysis, executive summaries, and visual aids.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and align diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively in a complex environment with competing priorities.

High level administrative skills with the ability to manage tasks and competing demands.

Digital Assurance is a function at Department of Customer Service that supports NSW Government delivery agencies to ensure digital projects are being effectively developed and delivered on time, on budget and in line with the government’s objectives. It supports the delivery of accessible, inclusive, secure and integrated digital services for all people in NSW.
Digital Assurance is implemented through the Digital Assurance Framework (DAF). The framework underpins our approach to assurance. It is consistent with NSW Gateway Policy and the NSW Digital Governance Model, which are administered by NSW Treasury.
