Studying Teaching or Education at university and looking for meaningful work that fits around your uni timetable?

Do you have 2–3 weekday afternoons available during school terms and enjoy working with school-aged students?

A² Tutors is looking for enthusiastic Primary and High School Math & English tutors to provide 1:1 tutoring in students’ homes primarily in the Ryde district, Lower North Shore, and Inner West.

This is a great opportunity for a current Teaching/Education student to gain practical experience working with students while earning flexible income around your university studies.

About the role

You’ll work 1:1 with Primary and High School students, helping them build their knowledge, skills and confidence in Math and/or English.

We currently have students across:

Ryde District: East Ryde, West Ryde, Ryde, Gladesville, Hunters Hill
Lower North Shore: Castlecrag, Frenchs Forest
Inner West: Drummoyne, Leichhardt, Tempe

Students are matched based on:

Your strongest subjects
Your local area
Your availability

Who we’re looking for

We’d particularly love to hear from you if you are:

Currently studying Teaching, Education or a related university degree
Available for 2–3 weekday afternoons during school terms
Confident tutoring Primary and/or High School Math or English
Patient, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with students
A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal English
Reliable and organised
Comfortable travelling to students’ homes within your local area

Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or childcare experience is highly regarded, but not essential.

You’ll need:

A valid Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
An ABN (or willingness to obtain one)
Access to a car is preferred
