About the Role

Sydney Local Health District has a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

This role provides administrative support to the Community Paediatrics team, Disability Specialist Unit (DSU), and Child Health Information Link (CHIL). These teams deliver care to children with developmental and behavioural needs across multiple community health locations and are part of Sydney Local Health District’s Child & Family Health Services directorate. You will work alongside paediatricians, allied health clinicians, nurses and other administration officers to help children and their families receive high-quality care.

What you'll be doing

As a key member of the DSU, Community Paediatrics and CHIL teams, you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to ensure clinics operate efficiently and families receive seamless, well-coordinated care.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering high-quality customer service to families and stakeholders in person, over the phone and via email.
Coordinating referrals, clinic schedules and patient bookings.
Supporting clinical staff with record keeping, report distribution, meeting coordination and minute taking.
Identifying opportunities to streamline processes to improve quality and efficiency.

Ideal Candidate

Extensive experience in the provision of administrative and clerical support functions with the ability to multi-task in a high volume work environment.
Ability to initiate, establish and implement work procedures to achieve high throughput in a work environment of limited supervision.
Sound and accurate keyboard skills with working knowledge of computer programs, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Intranet/Internet and Email and willingness to undertake training to maintain data systems.
Good understanding of issues and practices relating to client confidentiality and knowledge of medical terminology.
Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
