We’re looking for a Head of Enterprise Strategy to lead our Strategy function and help SBS make clear, considered choices about our future.

You’ll own SBS’s Enterprise Strategy from development through to execution and review, and act as the primary strategic adviser to the Managing Director and a trusted adviser to the Executive and Board. Leading a team of Strategy Managers, you’ll bring insight, perspective, and constructive challenge to some of the organisation’s most important decisions.

A key part of your role will be connecting what is happening outside SBS with the decisions we make inside it. You’ll bring together audience, market, industry, regulatory, economic, and social insights to identify what matters most, and what requires our attention now.

You’ll create the space for SBS to think beyond immediate priorities, explore different possibilities and make informed choices about where we focus, invest, and evolve.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to do meaningful strategy work at an organisation that makes real impact.

In practice, you will:

Lead enterprise-wide strategic planning and coordinate SBS’s annual corporate process

Lead regular strategic reviews, ensuring priorities remain relevant as circumstances change.

Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, partnerships, business models and other opportunities that could strategically strengthen SBS’s reach, relevance and long-term sustainability.

Lead high-priority strategic projects, using rigorous analysis, frameworks and modelling to navigate complex questions and inform decisions.

Work across SBS to connect enterprise priorities with divisional planning and support their progression into action.

Bring structure and clarity to complex or ambiguous strategic challenges, helping leaders understand options, trade-offs and implications.

About youâ¯

We’reâ¯looking for someone who brings:â¯

Strong strategic judgement, with the ability to work through complex or ambiguous issues and identify what matters most.

Experience developing enterprise or corporate strategy and turning strategic direction into clear priorities, choices, and action.

Strong analytical and commercial skills, including the ability to understand financial modelling, business cases and the financial impact of strategic decisions.

Clear and influential communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into practical recommendations and work effectively with senior executives and Boards.

A collaborative and curious approach, with the ability to challenge thinking constructively, consider different perspectives and understand how external change could affect an organisation.

Experience leading and developing strategy professionals, alongside an understanding of how strategy connects with people, culture, organisational capability and change.

Experience in media, technology, digital businesses, or another sector going through significant change would be valuable, but it’s not essential. We’re more interested in the quality of your strategic thinking and judgement, and your ability to understand SBS, our purpose and the environment in which we operate.
