About the role

The Leasing and Property Officer will develop and implement best practice property portfolio management services to ensure that Council property contributes to the development of strategies, plans and budgets and is managed to optimise the performance of the portfolio assets and maximise financial and other benefits to Council, the community and facility users.

This position requires commercial and business acumen and a high level of negotiation skills. This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the management of Council’s property portfolio including affordable housing, disposals, acquisitions, land management, leases, licenses, air space and community agreements, accommodation subsidies and grants, easements/ rights of way, regular property portfolio inspections and including WHS reports, debtor and arrears management, proactive tenant relationship building and management and developing and implementing policies and procedures.

Remuneration

$99,115.12 - $117,368.68 + 12% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

Tertiary degree level or industry-specific qualifications or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field of Property or Asset or Strata or Leasing Management and coordination.

Demonstrated skills and experience in project management along with contract administration and negotiation skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and competing deadlines (including demonstrated time management).

Experience in managing diversified property portfolios, including direct tenancy management and CRM initiatives, preparation and review of legal documents, monitoring of leases/ licenses/ agreements, easements/ rights of way, deeds and other forms of agreements, land classifications and zonings, property valuations, disposals and acquisitions.

Well-developed high level communication, liaison and negotiation skills including being conversant with MS Office suite products for financials, report writing and presentations.

Ability to establish and maintain respectful and professional interactions with members of staff
- and of a diverse community and provide advice/ services, trouble-shoot and problem solve and handle a range of issues including difficult or challenging customers.
