The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime. Youth Justice is committed to the demonstration of the Victorian Public Sector values. The values are: responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.
The Rostering and Attendance team is primarily responsible for the effective deployment and rostering of staff across the Parkville, Cherry Creek and Malmsbury Youth Justice Precincts.
Please note that this position will operate on a rotating roster and will involve weekend (1 in 3) and public holiday work.
The opportunity
- Ongoing, full-time position based at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct but working flexibly across other Youth Justice Custodial Precincts (Parkville & Cherry Creek), where needed to respond to operational requirements.
- VPS2 role: $62,104 - $79,753 per year plus super.
- Assist in the ongoing review and monitoring of rostering procedures and practices.
- Maintain employee data within internal systems (TimeTarget)
- Generate TimeTarget Reports (such as Biometric Scan Compliance Report, Leave Report and SAL Check Report) to complete relevant rostering tasks for management purposes
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with agreed standards and local operating procedures.
- Provide a range of high quality, confidential and efficient administrative services and support to management.
To be successful in this role you will have well-developed computer literacy and a current driver's licence is required due to the need to work across different locations.
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
