Your opportunity

Tailored Learning is delivered in partnership with local schools to provide personalised case management and coordinated support for students in Years 8 to 12+, up to 21 years of age, who would benefit from additional assistance to remain engaged in their education.

Through a strengths-based and trauma responsive approach, we work collaboratively with students, families, educators and community services to address barriers to learning, strengthen wellbeing and support positive learning, training and employment pathways.

As a Case Manager, you will play a key role in supporting young people to achieve their individual goals by developing trusted relationships, coordinating services, advocating across support systems and working closely with schools and community partners. You will support students experiencing barriers to learning, helping them build confidence, strengthen their engagement in education and create positive pathways for the future.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people while contributing to stronger educational outcomes across our community.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Provide person-centred case management support to students with complex needs.
Develop and review individual support plans focused on education, wellbeing and engagement goals.
Support student attendance, participation and re-engagement with learning.
Build trusting relationships with students using trauma informed and strengths-based approaches.
Engage families and caregivers to strengthen support networks and educational outcomes.
Identify barriers to participation and coordinate strategies to address them.
Facilitate referrals and connections to appropriate internal and external support services.
Collaborate closely with the Whyalla Secondary College team to support coordinated student planning and oversight.
Maintain accurate client records, case notes, reports and data in line with organisational requirements.
Build effective partnerships with schools, community organisations and government stakeholders to improve outcomes for young people

Requirements for success

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Human Services or a related discipline or equivalent experience with 1 year of relevant experience or minimum Certificate IV qualification or higher in Youth Work, Case Management, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Completed Safe Environment Training Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
Completed Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
Demonstrated experience providing case management support to young people or clients with complex needs.
Proven ability to develop and implement individualised, strengths-based support plans.
Sound knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally safe, and person-centred practice frameworks.
Strong understanding of barriers that impact educational engagement, attendance, and student wellbeing.
Demonstrated ability to build positive and effective relationships with young people, families, and key stakeholders.
Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and broader service networks.
Highly developed communication, engagement, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
Strong administrative skills, including case note writing, report preparation, and database management.
Current Driver's Licence, Working with Children Check, and First Aid Certificate.
