Your Community Needs You | Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer
Make a meaningful difference in the hospital journey of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients by joining SALHN as an Aboriginal Liaison Officer. You'll be a trusted cultural support and advocate, working alongside clinical teams to ensure care is safe, respectful, culturally sensitive and clearly understood. From supporting communication and coordinating transport to helping overcome barriers to timely discharge, you'll play a vital role in connecting patients, families, clinicians and services. About you:
Significant experience in working with Aboriginal individuals, their families and communities
Cert III or IV in Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice or Community Care
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people, health workers and other organisations
Experience in working closely with Aboriginal health services and mainstream service providers
Ability to develop supportive and collaborative relationships with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities
