About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Senior Registrar (Fellow) - Upper Gastrointestinal within the Surgical Specialties and Anaesthesia.
This position will offer you professional growth opportunities within a supportive and inclusive culture. In this key position you will demonstrate your experience and previous success working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse to ensure high quality care is delivered to our consumers.
The applicant will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive tertiary service for the management of patients presenting with Upper GI conditions.
The position also requires a significant contribution to the care of both elective and emergency General Surgery patients presenting to the Lyell McEwin Hospital.
The applicant will be expected to have experience in open UGI surgery and endoscopy.
A commitment to ongoing quality assurance including clinical meetings, teaching, daily ward rounds and clinical audit is essential.
To be eligible for this position, you must Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Obtained a Specialist Qualification and is registrable as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
