The Opportunity:
The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that food products are manufactured safely, legally, and consistently in accordance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. The role supports the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality systems to protect consumers, maintain certification standards, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
To provide effective quality assurance support to manufacturing operations through monitoring, verification, investigation, and continuous improvement activities that ensure product compliance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with Australian food legislation, customer requirements, and certification standards (BRCGS, CFMSR)

Support the implementation and verification of food safety programs.

Ensure products meet microbiological, chemical, physical, and allergen control requirements.
Quality Management Systems
- Administer and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and records.

Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Monitor Product and Process Quality
- Review production records and quality data to verify compliance with specifications.

Coordinate testing programs, including microbiological and environmental monitoring.

Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Quality Continuous Improvement
- Analyse quality trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

Participate in root cause investigations and problem-solving activities.

Assist in reducing customer complaints, waste, and rework.
Promote a Strong Food Safety Culture
- Provide guidance and training to employees on quality and food safety requirements.

Encourage adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.

Foster awareness and accountability for product quality throughout the site.
Maintain Accurate Records and Reporting
- Prepare quality reports, KPI summaries, and trend analyses.

Ensure traceability and record retention requirements are met.

Maintain calibration, verification, and validation records.
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary Science qualifications (Food Science, Science or Engineering) or relevant Industry experience.

Food safety and HACCP

Internal audit and compliance skills

GMP and food manufacturing knowledge

Traceability and recall system knowledge

Dynamics 365 desirable

Working knowledge of BRC/SQF/Coles/WoW Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
