The Role:
As the Program HSEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for driving our HSEQ culture, implementing our health and safety strategy across the program and network and
providing training, coaching and ongoing support to staff and subcontractors. The primary purpose of this role is to partner with operational teams to proactively manage risk, improve safety performance and ensure HSEQ systems are effectively implemented across all projects and programs, to create a safe, sustainable, and high-quality work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive & lead a strong safety culture by acting as a visible front line and site focused safety leader.
- Lead by example by maintaining a regular on-site presence, irds.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and national HSEQ legislation and compliance requirements.
- Implement, maintain & update project specific HSEQ plans and SWMS for high risk and high value jobs.
- Deliver HSEQ communications and facilitate toolbox talks
- Provide advice on HSEQ matters and issues, in line with our company framework and safety management system
- Respond to incidents and emergencies, including investigations, reporting and escalation
- Monitor safety compliance through efficient systems and technology with a focus on lead and lag indicators
Key Selection Criteria:
Do you have proven examples of demonstrating drive and energy? Are you extremely motivated and can think outside the box? Being able to demonstrate and highlight examples of these are the key criteria for you to be successful in joining our existing talented and passionate team.
- Previous experience in the building and construction or similar industry
- Formal qualification in Work Health & Safety, essential (minimum Certificate IV in H&S)
- Previous experience dealing with hazardous waste such as asbestos is essential
- A minimum of 3 years’ HSEQ experience, preferably in construction or a related sector.
- Knowledge of safety systems and technology such as Hammertech would be beneficial
- Superior communication skills, both written & verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make timely decisions.
- Ability to analyse & interpret data, laws & regulations
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Valid driver licence and willingness to travel regionally as required
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
