As our project pipeline continues to grow, we are committed to building a skilled and capable team to support our ongoing operations.

Role Overview

MEGP Industries is seeking an experienced Building Associate to join our team on a full-time basis. The role provides on-site technical and coordination support across our construction projects, working closely with Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors, and reporting to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Support Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors with the planning and organisation of construction projects
Apply knowledge of relevant plans, building regulations and codes of practice to day-to-day project work
Develop preliminary sketches, working drawings and technical specifications
Produce, amend and update plans, maps, charts and drawings as project requirements change
Coordinate works programs and trade schedules across each stage of the project
Carry out on-site inspections of work and materials to confirm compliance with specifications, regulations and industry standards
Estimate construction costs and project timeframes, and assist in monitoring these against budget
Use surveying instruments and photogrammetric equipment to collect site data
Perform routine calculations and plot preliminary survey data
Provide day-to-day supervision of technical staff and trades on site, and coordinate the delivery of materials and plant equipment
Report progress, risks and compliance matters to the Project Manager

Skills and Experience

Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Building, Construction, Surveying or a related field.
At least 2-3 years experience in a building, construction or surveying support role, including site-based coordination
Working knowledge of Australian building codes, regulations and standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings
