Position: Full-Time or Seasonal (Contract) Resident Stud Veterinarian
Stone Lodge Equine Services provides premium, 24-hour veterinary care for two elite thoroughbred studs in the heart of the Upper Hunter Valley. Our team already features two highly experienced veterinarians who manage the daily veterinary care on-site, utilising the world-class referral expertise of the nearby Scone Equine Hospital.
We are seeking a dedicated Equine Veterinarian to join our established team as a resident stud vet. This position is flexible and can be structured as either a permanent full-time role or a seasonal contract for the upcoming breeding season. You will deliver high-quality, hands-on care directly on-site, ensuring the health and performance of top-tier bloodstock.
- Comprehensive care for broodmares across all reproductive stages.
- Neonatal care and management.
- Health monitoring for weanlings, yearlings, and stallions.
- Management and rehabilitation of horses out of training.
- Shared On-Call: Equal 1-in-3 rotation split between the three veterinarians on the team.
- Stud Season: Expectation to work Monday to Friday, plus every Saturday morning during the peak breeding season.
- Minimum of 12 months of dedicated equine veterinary experience.
- Prior experience working in a stud or reproductive environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with stud managers and senior vets.
- Veterinary registration enabling practice in New South Wales.

As a long‑standing and highly respected farm, Vinery is pleased to offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Bloodstock Sales team.
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities, driving nominations to the Vinery stallions, and working closely with our loyal on‑farm clientele. This role requires exceptional customer service skills and regular engagement with clients both on farm and externally.
- Stallion Nomination Sales – Actively promote and sell stallion nominations, securing quality mares for the Vinery roster.
- Relationship Management – Serve as a key liaison between stud farms, bloodstock agents, and mare owners, including managing on‑farm clients and their stock.
- Auction Sale Representation – Attend selected sales nationwide to develop industry relationships, arrange parades of Vinery stock for prospective clients, and work collaboratively to maximise sale results.
- Marketing Support – Assist the Marketing Team with the promotion of Vinery stallions, yearlings, weanlings, and broodmares to enhance ultimate sale outcomes.
