Full Job Description

Hunger Buzz is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can confidently manage the entire kitchen, lead and train staff, maintain high food quality, and develop innovative menu items that blend Indian, Italian, and Australian cuisines.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily kitchen operations.
Lead, supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff.
Create and develop seasonal menus with a fusion of Indian, Italian, and Australian flavours.
Prepare accurate menu costing and maintain target food cost percentages.
Order, receive, and manage stock and supplier relationships.
Reduce food waste and control kitchen expenses.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements.
Create staff rosters and manage kitchen productivity.
Develop recipes, standard operating procedures, and portion controls.
Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.
Collaborate with management to improve sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Skills & Experience

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
Strong knowledge of Indian, Italian, and Australian cuisine.
Proven experience in menu development and recipe costing.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with stock control, purchasing, and kitchen budgeting.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
