We are now seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join our expanding team and provide technical support across the design, documentation, fabrication, and construction stages of our projects.

About the Role
As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will provide technical and engineering support across the preparation, development, and documentation of steel structure projects, including sheds, rural buildings, garages, granny flats, and habitable steel-frame structures.
Working closely with engineers, project managers, site supervisors, and fabrication staff, you will assist with technical drawings, site plans, construction documentation, and the review of site conditions and engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As part of this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings, site plans, and construction documentation for steel structures.
- Assist with civil and structural design documentation, engineering drawings, specifications, and site information.
- Conduct site inspections and technical assessments, review site measurements and conditions, and update drawings to reflect engineering and project requirements.
- Generate machine-ready Scottsdale software files for in-house roll-form manufacturing custom steel stud frames
- Prepare workshop and fabrication documentation, including machine-ready files for custom steel stud frames.
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, site supervisors, and fabrication staff to resolve technical issues.
- Review documentation for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with relevant requirements.
- Assist with quoting, project planning, council documentation, and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical assistance to the project and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Civil Construction Design, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a civil engineering technician, engineering technician, structural drafting, construction design, or similar technical role.
- Experience working with structural steel, building construction, sheds, or similar construction projects is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software; experience with roll-form systems such as Scottsdale is desirable, and experience with AutoCAD is also beneficial
- Experience with roll-forming systems or software such as Scottsdale will be highly regarded.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, site information, Australian Standards, and relevant building requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in technical documentation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
