About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

Our Child and Family Health Nursing team is seeking a motivated and passionate Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our Nursing and Midwifery Workforce. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, compassionate and person-centred care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.

Working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, implementing and evaluating education programs tailored to the needs of staff within the service. You will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skills accreditation and ongoing professional development support for nursing staff and students, while also delivering education programs across NBMLHD facilities.

The successful candidate will maintain regular and structured communication with key stakeholders to plan and coordinate effective learning opportunities, assess team capabilities and provide meaningful feedback in line with current legislation and professional standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills will be essential to support high-quality documentation, education delivery and learning outcomes.

What you will bring to the role:

Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).

Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer. Recent experience and clinical skill in provision of care to children aged 0-5 years and their families/carers as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or 12 months full time equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse).

Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes that align with NSW Health's organisation's CORE values of; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, when interacting with staff, patients, consumers, and carers.

Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing workforce, working within appropriate models of care.

Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.

Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including negotiation, feedback and conflict resolution, alongside evidence of computer literacy and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and record management systems.

Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and engage people in the clinical setting and work professionally in a multidisciplinary team.

Current valid Driver’s Licence willingness to use for work purposes. This will include driving long distances across the Local Health District.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
