Join the team at Noosa Hospital as a Part-Time Ward Clerk working within the busy D Pavilion Ward.
As a Ward Clerk, you will provide essential administrative support to patients, their families and the clinical team, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the ward.
This is a varied and fast-paced role where you will interact with patients, visitors, medical staff and other hospital departments. You will support admission and discharge processes, manage patient records and documentation, respond to enquiries and provide professional customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the ward, patients, families and clinical team.

Support patient admission and discharge processes to assist with effective bed management and utilisation.

Maintain accurate compilation and management of patient files, admission papers and clinical records throughout admission and discharge.

Complete and scan documentation accurately and within required timeframes.

Provide timely and accurate information in response to enquiries from patients, doctors, visitors, staff and other departments.

Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls to the ward professionally and efficiently.

Perform and interpret health fund eligibility checks.

Provide administrative support to relevant ward personnel as required.

Work collaboratively with medical staff, clinical teams, patients and visitors to support a smooth hospital experience.

Maintain confidentiality and privacy when handling patient information and medical records.

Complete manual handling tasks associated with patient records, clinical documentation and other ward-related materials.

Undertake other administrative duties as required.
You Will Also Bring

Previous experience in hospital or healthcare administration is preferred but not essential.

Minimum two years' experience in an administration role is desirable.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong customer service skills and a patient-focused approach.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet designated timeframes.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Accurate and efficient data entry skills.

Previous experience using Patient Information Systems such as Meditech is highly regarded.

Previous experience using hospital mainframe systems is desirable.

Certificate in Medical Terminology is highly regarded.

Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
