38hrs per week

Full-Time, Permanent

Boocock’s Quality Meats is a family-owned premium butcher shop located in Birtinya on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The business specialises in providing high-quality grass-fed, free-range, organic, and specialty meats sourced from reputable Australian producers. Established with a strong focus on quality products and personalised customer service, the company has built a positive reputation within the local community for its commitment to excellence and traditional butchery standards.

Operating from Stockland Birtinya, the business offers a wide range of fresh meat products and is committed to maintaining high standards in food preparation, presentation, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. Boocock’s Quality Meats prides itself on delivering a modern retail butchery experience while preserving the craftsmanship and attention to detail associated with traditional butcher shops.

With the continued increase in demand, the company needs a qualified and experienced Retail Butcher to join our team.

Responsibility

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, processing, and presenting meat products for retail sale, operating meat processing equipment, and assisting in the production of quality smallgoods while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.

Duties

Preparing meat products for retail sale by boning, trimming, slicing, mincing, and portioning meat according to specifications and customer requirements
Producing marinated, seasoned, and value-added meat products
Selecting and preparing meat for smallgoods production
Operating meat processing equipment including grinders, mincers, mixers, and tenderising machines
Preparing seasoning blends, marinades, and curing mixtures
Using sausage fillers, smoking equipment, cooking kettles, and related machinery where required
Providing customers with advice regarding meat selection, preparation, and cooking methods
Assisting with stock control, production planning, and estimating product quantities as required

Qualifications

AQF Certificate III with at least two years of relevant on-the-job training; or
AQF Certificate IV relevant to the occupation (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

Experience

At least three years of relevant experience

Passion for the retail meat and butchery industry
Strong customer service and communication skills
Professional presentation and positive work attitude
Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team
Permanent Australian work rights without restrictions
