About the position:
To contribute to water, sewerage and gas maintenance, construction, and compliance activities to ensure the provision of a safe, reliable and sustainable utilities network for the community and Council infrastructure and facilities.
This position will be focused on the Roma area, and will provide trade support to other towns, as required.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing Operations
-
Construct / maintain water, sewerage and gas reticulation networks and facilities of Council to agreed service level standards and design specifications including:

Construction and maintenance of water mains and services
-
Installation and maintenance of water meters
-
Construction and maintenance of sewer mains, jump ups, manholes and associated fittings
-
Cleaning of blocked drains and sewers
-
Construction and maintenance of natural gas reticulation and domestic/commercial services and associated equipment
-
Provide facility maintenance support for Council’s assets e.g. administration buildings, swimming pools, depots etc.

Provide technical advice related to plumbing matters to Council’s internal and external stakeholders.
Investigations and Compliance
-
Undertake Council’s water, sewerage and gas regulatory functions in a manner which reflects a customer service orientation.

Provide advice in respect to legislative and regulatory requirements, policies, and Local Laws.

Undertake investigations and administer compliance actions with the provisions of Council’s Local Laws, including the issue of related infringement notices in accordance with legislation and delegations.
Plant Operation
-
Safely operate and maintain Council’s plant and equipment as per the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and Council’s policies and procedures.

Maintain plant records as per Council’s Integrated Maranoa Management System (IMMS) and plant management policies and procedures.

Undertake required servicing and maintenance for plant, equipment and machinery to ensure optimal capacity and efficiency levels and to avoid unscheduled operational downtime.
