EXPERIENCED EQUINE VET NURSE/TECHNICAN
A position exists for a full-time Equine Vet Nurse / Technician to join our team of vets working out of two purpose built accredited hospital facilities in the western suburbs of Brisbane.
The candidate must have the relevant qualifications as well as at least two years’ experience in an equine hospital practice, including proficiency in general anaesthesia, internal medicine, and intensive care, including neonatal foal care, managing stallions and mares. The successful applicant will be required to provide additional support with afterhours admissions and afterhours intensive care for our referral Equine Hospital and Equine Reproduction Centre.
An interest in and experience in sport horse lameness evaluation and treatment is desirable. Experience and specialised interest in equine reproduction laboratory practices, equipment and technology is essential.
We are well equipped with modern diagnostic equipment and a fleet of ambulatory vehicles for farm and stable visits. The team is supportive and well trained with specialists on staff. We have an energetic, friendly, and motivated team. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, outstanding time management skills, demonstrated problem management skills and the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
Salary range of $75,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.
The position includes afterhours on a 1 in 3 roster with superannuation and conference leave in addition.
