We're hiring our first-ever Cafe Manager. We are a growing, heaving cafe that needs an operational wiz. Five-day roster, 2 weekend days per month.

We're a neighbourhood cafe in Heidelberg Heights, and we've stayed true to what we love.

Great coffee, made consistently. Honest food, made with care. Genuine hospitality - no fuss, no frills, just real connection.

We're recruiting our first-ever Cafe Manager.

As we grow, we're looking for an experienced hospitality leader ready to take ownership of the day-to-day and grow with the Nice Guy Eddie team.

About this role:

The Cafe Manager is the senior leader on the floor, reporting directly to the owners.

You're responsible for the day-to-day performance of the cafe - team, culture, guest experience, coffee and food quality, and the numbers. You set the tone. You hold the standards. You keep the cafe humming from open to close.

Fast when needed.

Calm when it matters.

Clean always.

Quality every cup.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll lead from the floor, coach in real time, and build a strong, accountable team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading and maintaining a strong front-of-house team, and working collaboratively with the kitchen on common goals.
Ensuring a consistent open and closing procedure, while running a smooth, high-volume daily service
Rostering effectively and managing productivity
Ordering and stock control
Driving exceptional customer experience and service standards
Maintaining coffee and food quality
Hiring, onboarding and training team members
Helping manage costs and protect margins

About you:

Previous cafe management experience
Strong barista skills and confidence in high-volume service
Warm, approachable and professional with customers and team
Calm, organised and consistent under pressure
A strong communicator who leads by example
Passionate about hospitality, food and coffee
Takes pride in maintaining high standards
