Job title: Electrical Engineer – Power and Renewables
Reporting to: Team Lead
Location: The role is primarily based in Melbourne, Victoria and Brisbane, Queensland. Travel to other Grid-Link offices, project sites, conferences, client offices may be required from time to time.

Purpose of the position
As part of the engineering and commissioning team, you will deliver electrical engineering services to support our clients in all the phases of their project development, from feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, technical due diligence, construction owner’s engineer, commissioning and operations and maintenance.
As required, the role will also be involved in the other line of services of Grid-Link associated with, but not limited to, grid connection, commissioning, technical advisory and project management.
Responsibilities and duties
Deliver electrical engineering support services in accordance with the project requirements and applicable technical standards, on time and within budget. The typical responsibilities include performing the following activities with an objective of developing a mature understanding and sufficiency to perform independently:
· Concept to detailed design of electrical systems, in particular HV substations and renewable energy projects (solar farm, BESS & wind farm).
· Review and development of technical datasheets and specifications.
· Participate in design reviews for constructability, quality & efficiency.
· Participate in grid connection, planning and feasibility studies.
· Support the management of Client’s Connection application process for medium to large scale renewable energy projects.
· Provide technical support & clarification during construction phase of the projects.
· Support commissioning and compliance activities.
· Coordination of design and engineering activities on time and budget.
· Close working relationship with the grid connection and technical advisory teams on renewable developments.
· Participate in project development and reporting activities.
· Communicate effectively with the wider team and project stakeholders, including customers.
· Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance if required.
· Participate in internal review meetings.
· Other duties as directed by supervisory personnel.
It is expected the work performed shall be of high quality, in compliance with the provided direction and delivered on time.
Academic and trade qualifications
Essential qualifications
· Degree in Electrical Engineering
· Experience in electrical engineering.
Desirable qualifications
· Engineers Australia (EA) and RPEQ membership or applying
Work experience and skills
Essential experience:
· Good understanding of renewable energy generation projects- design, construction & commissioning aspects, GPS connection process & AEMO guidelines.
· Ability to use design & system studies software/ tools such as AutoCad, PV Syst, PSSE, Digsilent Power Factory, etc.
· Good understanding of testing and commissioning activities and/or HV substations design is an advantage.
· Be able to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
· Work independently and take initiatives.
Desirable qualifications
· Understanding of generator and customer connection process and requirements is appreciated.

Details of relationships relevant to this role
· This role will be primarily under the supervision of Team Lead, who shall provide ongoing guidance and support for professional and personal development of the candidate.
· The candidate will also provide active support to the grid connection and the technical advisory teams.
· The role will also work closely with clients and other stakeholders and expected to demonstrate professionalism, clarity of expression and collaboration in all such dealings.
Performance review period:
Every 12 months or less.
Next review date:
At the end of the probation period.
Pay: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
