The Opportunity
As a General Hand you will ensure Carrington’s grounds, buildings, and equipment are maintained to a high standard, creating a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, visitors and staff. We currently have a full time opportunity. As part of the Maintenance team, you will support facilities maintenance across the whole Carrington Campus, including:
Responsibilities:
- Gardening - including hedging, landscape maintenance & seasonal projects.
- Maintenance – carry out basic scheduled or reactive maintenance & repairs of buildings, plant & roads
- Logistics – support waste & linen services, gardening team, and removalist activities for residents & business needs
- Driving – buggies, bus, towing trailers & ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard of presentation.
Support the Hotel Services & Residential Aged Care teams to deliver high quality services for our residents

About You
Essential Criteria:
- Similar experience providing property/building services &/or grounds maintenance.
- Take pride in your work & willingness to be hands-on
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team & independently.
- Understanding of safety and effective work practices.
- Functional verbal & written communication
- Current NSW driver’s license
- Right to work in Australia
- Completion of a pre-employment assessment and a National Criminal History check clearance to be completed during recruitment
Desirable:
- Horticultural/Landscaping experience
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Light rigid driver's licence or higher preferred
Current qualifications in the elevated working platforms (EWP) or forklift license (LF)
