Full Job Description

We are a family owned company working in the civil construction industry and we are looking to recruit a full-time experienced drainer to working on projects located in Perth and regional WA.

Key responsibilities include:

· Reading plans, drawings, and specifications to plan and prepare for drainage installation, including sewer, water mains, and stormwater

· Measuring out and marking out for the correct number of pipes, manholes, stormwater pit, head walls and box culverts that are needed for the job

· Laying and connecting pipes, inclusive of stormwater and sewer, coordinating layouts in conjunction with other team members and supervisors following written instructions and plans

· Alignment and positioning of pipes in preparation for welding, connecting and sealing

· Repairing and surveying of pipes where required, cutting pipes to required lengths

· Covering pipes with earth or other materials, as required

· Completing tasks on water and sewer services to ensure where possible that there is continuous operation of water supplies and sewer services

· Using excavator to lift different types of materials from the suppliers’ truck and placing the materials into its certain spot where it’s marked on the drawings. eg stormwater pits, steel reinforced concrete sewer pipes

· Conducting of excavation works using relevant machinery as required – digging out trenches, digging to a level depth, grade and backfilling

· Using levels and lasers to check slopes and excavation sites for adherence to the requirements of the job and standards

· Ensuring that trenches and excavation sites have the proper slope and specifications installing pipe within trenches, joining ends with various and differing materials depending on the requirements of the job

· Working within the wider team to ensure the standards of jobs are adhered to and that work is completed within an efficient and expected timeframe

Our ideal applicant will possess the following:

· Minimum Certificate IV level qualification or extensive relevant experience

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in drainage

· White Card

· Ability to read and understand construction plans

· Ability to work on detailed and intricate projects

· Excellent time management and organisational skills
