About Us: Are you passionate about marine life and ready to dive into a thrilling career opportunity? The rare opportunity has arisen for you to join our dynamic specimen collection team, committed to collecting quality ocean animals used to create awe-inspiring ocean experiences! Ocean Reefs Marine Aquariums is a leading provider of aquatic corals, fish and invertebrates, dedicated to showcasing the wonders of marine life through our state-of-the-art aquariums.

Position Overview: As a Commercial Aquarium Specimen Diver, you will play a pivotal role in collecting, maintaining and transporting the collected specimens from collection points to our central holding facility. You'll be responsible for ensuring the organisation and cleanliness of our collection facilities.

Responsibilities:

Collect Fish, Coral and Invertebrates using surface supplied diving techniques.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of aquarium tanks, equipment, and surrounding areas.
Conduct regular health checks on aquatic inhabitants, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
Monitor water quality parameters and ensure optimal conditions for marine life.
Collaborate with the aquarium team to ensure highest quality of the collected specimens.

Requirements:

Certified PADI (or equivalent) diver with extensive experience in underwater
Pass an occupational dive medical annually in accordance with AS/NZS2299.1.
Proficient in surface supplied diving techniques and equipment operation.
Knowledge of marine biology and aquatic life.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience or interest in working in this environment.
Additional certifications in dive rescue, first aid, or life support systems.
HR licence.
Current diving health medical
Physical fitness for underwater tasks and lifting
Attention to detail
Experience diving on hookah
