Are you interested in supporting patients to improve their communication and swallowing outcomes within a busy and supportive healthcare environment? Fairfield Hospital is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant Level 1 to join our Speech Pathology team.

Working under the supervision of Speech Pathologists, you will provide clinical and administrative support to assist the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within a collaborative multidisciplinary team while making a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of our community.

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will:

Assist Speech Pathologists with the delivery of clinical programs and patient interventions under supervision.
Support patients with communication and swallowing therapy activities as delegated.
Prepare and organise therapy resources and patient education materials.
Maintain speech pathology equipment and resources, ensuring they are clean, organised and in good working order.
Complete clinical and administrative tasks that support effective service delivery.
Collect and enter activity data and assist with departmental record keeping.
Work collaboratively with Speech Pathologists and the broader multidisciplinary team to support

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

Experience as an Allied Health Assistant or commitment to completing Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant within 12 months of employment or currently studying to complete an Allied Health qualification/degree.
Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workloads, work independently and as part of a team, and complete delegated clinical and administrative tasks within scope of practice.
Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated computer literacy and administrative skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications, data management systems, and an understanding of Work Health and Safety principles.
? if you hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
