Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Parramatta with access to hybrid working arrangement
Full time temporary role for up to 2 years (35 hours per week)
Salary from $133,348 to $146,945 pa. + super and annual leave loading

Your role
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is committed to improving housing outcomes for Aboriginal people by delivering sustainable housing solutions and strengthening Aboriginal communities across NSW.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting the AHO's financial planning, budgeting, reporting and compliance functions. Working within a collaborative finance team, you'll provide financial analysis and insights that support informed decision making and ensure the organisation meets its statutory and Treasury reporting obligations.
What you’ll do
Lead the preparation of the AHO's financial planning and reporting deliverables, including the Statement of Business Intent, Business Plan, Annual Budget, Half-Year Review and forecasting activities.
Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, providing meaningful variance analysis, insights and recommendations to support informed business decisions.
Coordinate Treasury reporting through the PRIME portal, preparing financial submissions and commentary that meet government requirements.
Manage early close and year-end financial reporting processes, including the preparation of financial statements and Treasury and Audit Office returns.
Prepare monthly journals, reconciliations and other financial adjustments to ensure the integrity of financial information.
Partner with business leaders to provide trusted financial advice, monitor budget performance and identify opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
Maintain and enhance financial data within AHO's financial systems, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation, responding to enquiries and implementing recommendations where required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial governance, reporting processes and business performance.
Work collaboratively across the Finance team on strategic projects and provide support with high-priority requests, including ministerial briefs and other ad hoc financial reporting.
What we’re looking for
Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, modelling, and reporting in a complex organisation, preferably within government or a highly regulated sector.
Strong understanding of financial management frameworks, Australian Accounting Standards, Treasury Directions, and public sector financial legislation.
Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights, options, and recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
Experience in developing, reviewing, and providing financial input into business cases or large-scale investment proposals.
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Finance or Economics and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Professional membership (or progress toward membership) of CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or equivalent is highly desirable.
Previous experience using PRIME and myWorkZone is desirable.

Please provide your previous experience on leading the preparation of financial statements for your organisation, including your understanding of accounting standards AASB 1058, AASB 1059 and AASB 13.
