Program Officer

Location - Parramatta with flexible with hybrid working arrangement available

Employment type – Temporary full-time role until December 2026

Salary - $113,574.00 - $125,719.00 pa, plus superannuation and leave loading

This is a targeted recruitment. While all applicants are welcome, preference will be given to candidates who meet the established standards of the role and are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islander descent. This is because the Department acknowledges this lived experience contributes a perspective valuable to our work with this community.

Your role

Offer program management services for Aboriginal initiatives, emphasising the design and delivery of Aboriginal Domestic and Family Violence programs and commissioning of services to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal people, families, and communities.

What you’ll do

Collaborate on the design, delivery coordination and development of DCJ programs to align with organisational goals and meet client needs.
Support procurement activities, contracting, tendering, and capital works, including budget estimates, ministerial and performance reporting.
Utilise project management methodologies and analysis to ensure high-quality outcomes across DCJ.
Support performance reporting to facilitate monitoring of program deliverables and client outcomes.
Connect with Aboriginal people, Communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to enhance sector capability.
Drive place-based consultation and communication with Aboriginal People, Communities and ACCOs
Provide Aboriginal Cultural advice and insight.
Drive respectful and culturally informed consultation and communication with Aboriginal People & Communities
Travel will be a requirement of the role

What we’re looking for

Understanding of Regional Rural and Remote Aboriginal Community strengths, needs and barriers.
Understanding of Domestic and Family Violence
Understanidng of service planning design delivery and evaluation.
Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure programs and initiatives include widespread consultation.
Understanding of the implementation of programs that are evidenced based, flexible, and adaptive to changing needs.
