What you'll be doing

The primary focus of the position is to provide a comprehensive social work service to children, young people and their families referred from the relevant clinical area. This includes the provision of psychosocial assessments, counselling and advocacy. The service includes individual, family and group work and program development. The social worker is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team.

This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identify as an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

As an identified position, the Aboriginal Paediatric Social Worker will provide cultural support and education to the Social Work Department to strengthen its capacity for culturally responsive service and practices.
