The Role

As a Pastry Chef de Partie at Cafe Sydney, you will leverage your culinary expertise to manage in a designated section of our kitchen, which operates 7 days a week under the leadership of Executive Chef Sarahjane Brown and Head Chef Kyle Richards.

This role requires:

Menu Planning: Support crafting sophisticated menus, accurately estimating food and labour costs, and proficiently ordering food supplies.
Quality Control: Monitoring dish quality throughout all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain impeccable standards.
Collaborative Engagement: Engaging in discussions about food preparation issues with managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff .
Culinary Skills: Demonstrating refined cooking techniques and offering guidance on cooking procedures to junior staff.
High-Level Preparation: Executing food preparation and cooking that aligns with Cafe Sydney's standards.
Team Development: Training and mentoring team members, fostering growth within the kitchen brigade.
Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhering to meticulous food storage, preservation, and thawing techniques. Enforcing rigorous hygiene regulations and food safety practices.
Cross-Training Opportunities: Gaining versatility through training in various sections of our extensive kitchen environment.
