Full Job Description

Queensland Youth Services (QYS) is seeking a compassionate, motivated and resilient Case Worker to join our Townsville team.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting young people experiencing homelessness, family conflict, domestic and family violence, mental health concerns, social disadvantage and involvement with the youth justice system.

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll provide strengths-based case management, advocacy and practical support to help young people achieve safe, sustainable and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strengths-based case management to young people and their families.
Support young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and other complex challenges.
Develop individual support plans and coordinate referrals to housing, education, employment, health and community services.
Advocate for clients and collaborate with Child Safety, Youth Justice, schools, health providers and community organisations.
Maintain accurate case notes, records and reporting.
Manage a diverse caseload while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

About You

You are:

Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Compassionate, resilient and able to build trusting relationships.
An effective communicator with strong organisational skills.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Committed to trauma-informed, strengths-based practice and continuous professional development.

What You'll Bring

You will have:

A relevant qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications and/or experience.
Experience providing case management or support services to young people.
Knowledge of youth homelessness, child protection, youth justice and related social issues.
Strong written communication, case recording and report writing skills.
Experience working collaboratively with government and community service providers.
The ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and an understanding of the impacts of historical disadvantage and intergenerational trauma.
Current Drivers License
