Health and Safety Advisor (Consultant)
Full-Time | Singleton NSW | Travel Required | $125k–$140k (incl. super)
We’re Gilbert Service Group - a purpose-driven Health, Safety, Environment & Training consultancy shaping safer, smarter workplaces across Australia. We simplify risk management, empower leaders and help workers make informed decisions that genuinely improve safety and culture.
We’re growing, and we’re ready to welcome a new Health & Safety Advisor to our team - someone motivated, capable, curious and excited by variety. If you’re a solid H&S officer or early-to-mid-level advisor ready for your next step, this may be your perfect fit.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, practical, “roll up your sleeves and deliver” consulting role.
You’ll work across an incredible mix of industries - mining, quarries, trades, transport, local government, wineries, legal and professional services, and more.
Your week will be a blend of:
- Facilitating workplace risk assessments from start to finish
- Conducting WHS audits (desktop + onsite)
- Developing policies, procedures, management plans and HSMS documentation
- Completing Contractor Management Plans and prequalification assessments
- Providing onsite WHS support and role coverage for clients
- Drafting high-quality reports and documentation
- Analysing data and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Collaborating with our team to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
You’ll work under the guidance of our Senior Team Members while you learn our systems, our clients and “the GSG way.” As you grow, you’ll take on more ownership, more clients and more complex work.
This role includes travel - around one week per month on average - to sites across NSW and the eastern states. We mix it with office and work-from-home days for a balanced rhythm.
About You
You’re the kind of person who takes pride in doing things properly and producing excellent work. You enjoy variety, love learning and can comfortably switch between field work, writing tasks, client conversations and focused desk time.
You are someone who:
- Has 2+ years in a hands-on WHS role
- Has exposure to multiple workplaces or industries
- Can facilitate risk assessments confidently
- Can draft documentation from scratch - policies, procedures, reports
- Communicates clearly with workers and senior leaders alike
- Thinks ahead, takes initiative and solves problems
- Stays calm, organised and reliable under pressure
- Is curious, energetic, low-ego and an absolute team player
- Loves collaborating but can also work independently once you know the path.
You’re excited by travel, not intimidated by it.
You appreciate structure, but you’re flexible enough to adapt when needed.
You want to grow - and you’re ready to show us why you’re worth investing in.
