About the Opportunity

At Worksforyou, we are proud to partner with a longstanding, highly respected rural law firm in Wagga Wagga to find their next Legal Services Secretary. Serving clients across the Riverina, this friendly, community-minded practice offers a supportive, family-friendly workplace culture and a stable, long-term opportunity.

This is a part-time position designed for a proactive administrator who loves keeping an office running smoothly and supporting a busy team of solicitors.

The Role Providing high-level administrative and secretarial support across conveyancing, wills/estates, commercial, and litigation matters, your key part-time responsibilities will include:

Preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence, dictation, and file notes.
Managing calendars, appointments, court dates, and strict deadlines.
Opening, maintaining, and closing client files.
Liaising professionally and confidentially with clients, courts, and external stakeholders.
Assisting with billing, trust account requisitions, matter setup, and monthly reporting.
Handling front-of-house duties as required (reception cover, incoming calls, and mail).

What We Are Looking For

Proven experience as a legal secretary/assistant, OR a strong administrative background in a professional services setting (rural practice experience is highly valued).
Students Welcome: This part-time role is an awesome opportunity for students currently studying Business, Law, or Administration looking to gain invaluable, hands-on industry experience with a flexible employer.
Advanced Microsoft 365 skills; experience with legal practice management systems (e.g., LEAP) is a major advantage.
Excellent communication skills, strong client service focus, and sound judgment.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management in a deadline-driven environment.
Nice to have: Familiarity with NSW conveyancing, e-settlements (PEXA), Land Registry, court e-filing, or basic bookkeeping.
