About the Role
The Graduate Research Intern Placement Administrator plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of Higher Degree by Research (HDR) internship placements across the University. Working closely with students, academic staff, industry partners and professional services teams, the position coordinates the end-to-end administration of internships, ensuring activities are processed accurately, compliantly and in a timely manner. Through effective stakeholder engagement, record management and financial administration, the role contributes to positive student experiences and the successful operation of UOW's graduate research internship program.

Key responsibilities:
Coordinate the end-to-end administration of HDR internship placements.
Support HDR students and stakeholders throughout the internship lifecycle.
Maintain accurate records and process internship-related financial transactions.

About the Team
The Graduate Research Intern Placement Administrator is part of the School of Graduate Research and Research Culture within the Research and Innovation portfolio and reports to the Scholarships and Collaboration Coordinator. The role works closely with HDR students, academic supervisors, Faculties, Finance, Legal and external industry partners to facilitate internship opportunities. The team exists to support research excellence by enabling high-quality HDR student experiences and providing end-to-end support throughout the research candidature journey.

What You'll Bring

A university degree and/or equivalent experience in administration, student services or program support.
Experience coordinating administrative processes and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines while providing clear advice and support.

Role Details

Employment type: Fixed-term | Part-time (2-year appointment, 14 hours/week, Monday & Thursday)
Level 5 | $85,682 - $96,898 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation.
Location: Wollongong Campus
Valid Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available
