The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and highly experienced Full-Time Cook to join our kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to bring their creative flair to our menu.
You will work closely with the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen hygiene, particularly during our high-volume peak seasons.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Asian-inspired dishes according to restaurant standards and recipes.
- Contribute creative input into menu development, seasonal specials, and dish presentation.
- Manage section prep and ensure consistent food quality and portion control during high-volume, fast-paced services.
- Monitor and manage food inventory, stock rotation, and minimize wastage.
- Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (HACCP) across the kitchen.
- Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualifications: Relevant trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III/IV or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of recent, full-time experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Cuisine Expertise: A strong, proven background in Asian cuisine is necessary for this role. You must understand Asian flavor profiles, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques (e.g., wok cooking, precise knife skills).
- Pace & Resilience: Proven ability to work under pressure, maintain composure, and deliver high-volume output during peak seasonal rushes.
- Flexibility: Must be available to work a rostered 5-day week from Wednesday through Sunday, including split shifts, evenings, and weekends.
