Welder

Duralloy Truck Bodies

From $75,000 - $85,000 a year + Superannuation

Permanent, Full-time (38 hours per week)

Location: Deception Bay QLD, 4508

Duralloy Truck Bodies is a Queensland-based Australian company specialising in the design and manufacture of high-quality aluminium truck bodies, trays, tippers, and custom transport solutions. Established in 1989, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering durable and innovative fabrication products to the transport and logistics industry across Australia.

As part of its growing operations, Duralloy Truck Bodies is seeking a skilled Welder to support the fabrication and assembly of heavy-duty aluminium truck bodies and related components, ensuring all work is completed to high industry and safety standards.

Responsibility

Fabricating and repairing metal products using various welding techniques.

Duties

Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding

Qualifications

AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training
AQF Certificate IV

Experience

At least three years of relevant experience.

Skills and Attributes

Strong experience in aluminium and heavy fabrication welding
Skilled in fitting, fabrication, assembly, and machinery maintenance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet production deadlines
