About the position
The Director Corporate and Community Services provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of Council’s corporate and community service functions, ensuring the delivery of sustainable, efficient, and high-performing services to the organisation and community.
The role is accountable for financial sustainability, digital transformation, community outcomes, procurement integrity, and the effective stewardship of Council’s Future Investment Fund. As a member of Council’s Directorate Leadership team, the position collaboratively and proactively contributes to the delivery of the objectives of Council’s Community Strategic Plan, four-year Delivery Program, annual Operational Plan, and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with Council’s values and strategic priorities.
- Ensure the financial sustainability of Council through the effective oversight of long-term financial planning, annual budget development and statutory financial reporting.
- Drive strong financial performance and governance, including revenue optimisation, cost management and asset utilisation, supported by robust internal controls, audit processes and enterprise risk management practices.
- Provide strategic leadership of Information Technology and digital transformation, including oversight of ICT governance, cybersecurity, data management and system integration, to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency and community engagement.
- Provide governance and strategic oversight of Council’s Future Fund and investment portfolios, including identifying, assessing and managing investment opportunities aligned with long-term financial strategies and community outcomes.
- Lead the strategic direction and performance of community services, ensuring programs are responsive to community needs, deliver measurable social outcomes, and are supported by strong partnerships with community organisations, government agencies and key stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain effective procurement and contract management frameworks, ensuring value for money, probity, transparency and compliance with all legislative and policy requirements.

- Salary Package from $218,307 to $228,132 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation

About you
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in finance, business, public administration, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver in leadership roles and lead effective multidisciplinary professional teams to achieve organisational objectives
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including long-term financial planning and investment oversight
- Proven leadership in ICT strategy and digital transformation
- Experience overseeing community services or human services delivery
